Caledonia, the No. 1 seed in Section 1AA, won the semifinal over the No. 4 seed Rushford-Peterson, a rematch of their Sept. 4 meeting, which Caledonia won 25-18. Caledonia moves on to play the No. 2 seed Dover-Eyota in the section final Friday at 7 p.m. at Paul Giel Field in Winona.
Caledonia has allowed 6 points per game this season and 3 over its last three, with four shutouts, including a 21-0 win over Dover-Eyota. Rushford-Peterson has lost to two seeded teams, Caledonia and Dover-Eyota, falling 21-7 to the latter.
Rushford-Peterson won the last meeting between the two programs, 21-14 in 2025, but Caledonia has won five of the six meetings since 2010. Caledonia's last state title came in 2019, over Minneapolis North Community.
