Privacy

Varsity North is a content-only site. Browsing is anonymous — there are no accounts, no sign-in, no newsletter and no comments. Server logs, described below, are the only data collected.

Analytics & cookies

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Google sets its own cookies to do that and learns your IP address, browser and the pages you open; we see only totals. You can turn it off with Google’s opt-out add-on. The site sets no cookies of its own.

The site does not change what it collects in response to browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, because it collects nothing those signals would apply to.

Server logs

The site is served through Cloudflare and its data is read from a server on AWS Lightsail. Both keep standard server logs — IP addresses, user-agent strings and request paths — short-term, for security and abuse prevention. They are not connected to any user identity by us.

Third-party content

Scores, schedules, records and rankings are read from MaxPreps’ public pages, server-side; your browser never talks to MaxPreps for them. Mascot images are loaded from MaxPreps’ image host, and photos in embedded posts from X’s. When your browser loads those images it is subject to those providers’ privacy policies, not ours. Embedded posts are drawn by us from the post’s text and pictures; no script from X runs on the page.

Students and minors

The site is about high school teams, and its readers include students. We do not collect anything from anyone, of any age. Stories name a player only when the player’s own school named them in a public post, and only for what the school said. If you are a parent, guardian or school and want a name, photo or post removed, email [email protected] with the page’s address and we will remove it promptly.

What we don’t collect

• No accounts, sign-in or profile data.
• No email addresses.
• No advertising or remarketing cookies.
• No fingerprinting.
• No payment methods — nothing on the site is for sale.

Your rights

We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone, because we do not hold any. Questions about this policy go to the address under Contact. Changes to this page are dated at the top.
